The Kecak Dance
Created in the 1930s by two western residents: Walter Spies & Katharane Mershon. The Kecak Dance, now involves a chorus of at least 50 men. They sit in concentric circles around an oil lamp & begin to make the sound: cak-cak-cak-cak. One man is the time beater. Kecak is performed solely for tourists.

The Keris Dance
This dance is a part of "Barong" dance performance. The players have reported feeling a heat inside of them and burning desire to kill evil Rangda. At other times, her power makes them convulse & stab themselves. Some men state that there is a spot, usually on their chest, the itches and they feel compel to stab it. These men aren't allowed to get too far out of control. If they do, their kerises are taken away and they're sprinkled with holy water to bring them out of trance

Javanese dance, accompanies with gamelan music, is a kinetic expression of cultural and aesthetic Javanese values. The Javanese place so high value on emotional control, social deference, and avoidance of conflict. Besides gamelan music instruments, also added with rebab and gong.
